Named and Endowed Chairs
Named Chairs: an orchestra position that is paid for with a one-time donation that covers a period of 5 years or 10 years.
Endowed Chairs: a position permanently paid for with the earnings from an endowment fund specifically set up for that purpose.
A chair may be named for the donor (s), one or more individuals, or a business or organization.
A chair may also be named in honor of or in memory of another individual.
The name (donor) of the chair will appear in concert programs and in other musician listings under the name of the musician occupying that chair or position.
